Hello MFk,

I am looking to purchase a nice decent laptop that would cost around $500-$700.

I am looking for the look and fast speed..I been looking around google and come across to Dell Inspriron 1501 Laptop that i love the look and it affortable price.

Please let me know if you have any suggestion on laptop and what is good with in my budget.

thanks

MAcBook Pro if you can get a deal on it. I have one, and I love it!!!!!!!

Every Dell computer that I've dealt with has had issues. I wouldn't recommend a Dell.

I have had great luck with Toshiba laptops. I get them from www.tigerdirect.com

+ dell tech support bites.

Not to say they're not smart but I had one of the laptops where the battery overheated and I'm trying to tell the guy on the phone there's no way it's gonna turn on..

But I have to sit on the phone for hours so he can go through the motions with me to try to get it to turn on.. even though I repeatedly told him the whole underside was melted..

I've got a Dell and Macbook Pro. For the price, you can't beat the Dell, IMO. My spec'd Dell ran $2100 retail, but once you added all the online discounts I paid $1300. My Macbook Pro doesn't hold a candle to the Dell's specs and cost $2500. IMO, Dell's the way to go, despite the **** customer service.

I, too, have a MacBook - and have been very happy with it. If you can afford one, it's worth it.

FWIW, there isn't a single dell computer in my inventory at work that hasn't had hardware issues.

macs are gonna be more expensive. i have had an HP for about 4 years now and its been great. i would defiantly recommend a HP.
