first I wanted to say thanks for reading my thread .
I found the site below a few months back. it is very interesting and it has info about many kinds of crays and states what the largest sizes of the different types crays would, could, should be .
http://shadowraven.net/aquarium/fresh/invert/crayfish/Astacidea.htm
So what I am looking for is offspring from one of the largest type of the Americas breeds . because when I go to say ebay to look for a clarkii there . the parents of the baby crayfish for sale there are just around 5 inches full grown clarkii. maybe Because it was selected for color (blue or red or ghost ) and not for large size or production or temperament or anything commercial except for only color .
so what I hope to find is
Large individuals or large offspring from large individuals of one the many types of native 8 inch crays from the midwest that feeds the (mississippi ) areas and maybe even the Caribbean( if I have too) ...mostly interested in the P. Procambarus or O. type . I would like to have some here to watch and learn about each type.
I would also be interested in the smaller P. Limosus and O. devil crayfish if you have or can find these also, thanks.
I also would be interested in some large native fresh water shrimp but I think I need to learn more about those for now. so thanks for your help and if you have or come across any large individuals please let me know , thank you !
