Last week my 26" Silver Arowana started getting small mini wart-like spots along his lateral line on both sides of his body. They almost look like air bubbles, but they are certainly coming from the surface of his scales.

There are no changes in his behavior patterns. He still eats from my hand, and is not easily spooked.

I have never before seen these spots on my Dragons. I tried taking a photo of them, but my camera can't seem to pick them up because they are silver in color as well, and he must turn sideways before you can see them as abnormal.

Anyone have any experience with these particular types of spots?

I'm concerned, and hoping it's not some kind of fungal or bacterial infection.

Before you ask, other than standard weekly water changes, there have been no critical changes in environment, and water perameters are ideal.

I will post a photo later if I can capture a decent shot. Although, it's pretty much as I described above. There are about 25 little spots on either side. They don't seem to be spreading, or getting any larger, but are not going away either.

Thanks for any help regarding this issue.

Alright, managed to get some pictures of these abnormalities.

Hopefully someone can figure this out.

As for an update, some of the spots have become larger.

I sure hope the 4th pic is bubbles and not the bumps.

One of my silvers has had these bumps(similar to pics 3,5 & 6) a couple of times, never did anything for them and they went away after a few weeks

Mine have all gotten them before I couldn't tell you wwhat it is from though I would think they are somewhat normal since it follows the lateral line and is nowhere else

Yes, those are bubbles.

The bumps are the tiny darker spots you see along the lateral shiny scales at the top.

Oddly enough, the bumps went away on one side completely, but appeared almost twice as much on the opposite side.

When they go away, they leave a small scar on his scale for a bit (which eventually heals).

They almost look like warts. Weirdest thing I've ever seen on a healthy Arowana. He doesn't seem affected by them at all.

When I work in the tank, he likes to rub up against my arm a lot. I'm hoping that hasn't caused him some kind of irritation.

Anyhow, still cannot find any solid information on whatever it is.
