So i changed up my aquascaping again, decided to use mostly large boulder type rocks (will add more once i deem it safe).

my question is, since the heavy boulders aren't sitting on any substrate or eggcrate, should i be worried about the pressure its putting on the bare bottom of the tank?

I saw a vid on youtube, where a guy put a giant stack of rocks in a tank to show, just how much weight a tank can actually hold. I would not be worried, as long as they are heavy enough to not be moved by the fish in the tank...:)

yeah... egg crate on the bottom rocks might help to displace weight more evenly thought just in case there is a point of pressure and if the point build up too much in one spot over time ti make weaken glass

a woman in high heels can weigh twice as much as an elephant per square inch. And the point pressure is all that matters in a glass tank. A little crack is all you need ;)

what I would do is to use sillicone -both as a pressure math and to keep them rocks lying steady. And glue them rocks togheter with sillicone (or simmilar)

I have done the "bare boulder look"...I too was a bit paranoid at first about water pressure being exerted on the bottom glass...I had it running for almost two months with no problems...It was only a growout.....What looks good is putting gravel under the rocks only, leaving spaces between each rock.....Throw in an extra large peice of driftwood over everything....And top off with an Amazon Sword Mother plant planted in a small clay pot........
