Large Catfish Food

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
i wouldn't make it a main food for the cats since they are predatory and have a natural diet consiting of fish. it could be used to add verity to the fishes diet. it is originally produced for herbivorous cichlids and not predatory fish. just my opinon though. the main food should consist of fish based things like whole fish, fillets, and similar foods. that is the way i feed my large catfish and my growth rates have not proved me wrong. examples; tsns= 3" to 24" in 6 months, arowana= 3" to 24"+ in 10 months, rtcxtsn= 2.5" to 15-17" in 4-5 months, achara cat 4-5" to 10-11" in 1.5 months. not over exaggerating on the growth as i have vids of the growth.

the high protein helps its capabilities with big preds, but it is still a cichlid oriented pellet. in my opinion.

If you really want cheap pellets, you can get the catfish food that the farm uses. It is sold at the local feed stores or online. It is mostly sinking but the other feed store pellet that floats with high protein would be Aqua Max 500. It is 50% protein, and it is made by Purina. It usually runs about $40 or so for a 50 pound bag. They tend to be a little bit oily but it works pretty good. Also, the local feed stores sometimes sell it by the pound so you don't have to buy a whole bag.

Thanks for the suggestions, Im avoiding the farm stuff because its got poor quality ingredients. Ill keep that in mind about the predatory nature. Ill probably alternate between this and shrimp or fish fillets.
