What would be a good large catfish to house with a pair of Oscars in a 300 (96w 30d 24h) gallon tank?

Should I look into exotics or just stick with my plan of catching a Yellow Bellied Bullhead in a nearby pond this coming spring?

I have been reading about the Shovelnosed Tigers and the Tigrinus Catfish. The TSN I think may get too big and the Tig is EXPENSIVE if I could find one. But d a m n they are fine looking fish.

If you can find one, get a bolt cat Aguarunichthys torosus. I have owned many cats and this ranks up there with the coolest. Always out and a very aggressive feeder.
Stay smaller (under 20 inches) and not aggressive to other fish
They are hard to find, but definately worth the money.

Very cool looking cat, I just did a google image search. How does one go about finding a fish like that for sale besides ordering from the overpriced LFS ?

Find someone doing a peru order and try to get them to order one for you. Try a wholesaler, or oddball specializer. I have never seen one for sale and had to get mine by...begging. They come in larger 10 inches or so usually so not a lot of people order them.

Hey Rudy,

Is yours responsive to you when you enter the room? Such as coming to the surface etc.

Thanks
If I could get this damn digital camera working I would show you, but yes. The coolest thing is how it eats though. Hard to explain but almost rolls its food.
It took probably 2 month
But when it comes out of skin it is for good. Coolest cat!

Marbled pim....

Marbled pim, another good looker at around 24".

Decisions, decisions. :)

I would add another 6 or 7 inches to that max....maybe even a foot. Mine was 28 inches prior to climing out of the tank.

Climbing out? Are they trouble makers?

My tank is 30" deep so I'd like to stay under that length.
