The Real Norcal
Hello,
I am not sure if this goes here, and you will see why if you continue reading.
I am currently speaking to Brett Raymer (coo of acrylicaquariums.com) about getting a custom tank built.Planned dimensions are 120x60x36 inches.Apprx. water volume will be 1,200 gallons. In it I plan to keep the four largest cichlids:Cichla ocellaris, Boulengerochromis microlepis, Herichthys dovii, and Herichthys umbriferum.

I was told the dimensions/volume of my tank should be enough if the four are introduced as very young juveniles.Aside from the emperor needing a bit different water conditions (I have faith he will adapt) does anybody have any forseen problems?I dont think it will turn into a "bloodbath",as some have said, though I will not deny the potential is there.Origanally a mystus nemurus was a planned addition as well, but I guess I need to set my sites slightly lower.
Thank you for any time and consideration spent on this matter.

Trial and error :grinyes:
It is certainly a possiblity that there will be agression issues, but given that much tank it could work. There is only one way to find out

just go for it and see what happens. Worst case scenario, you lose a fish... or two... or maybe 3.
But you wont know until you try. There have been some amazing mixes of fish in tanks that have worked, but in others they didnt. With that volume of water, there is a good chance it will work.

Go for it and see what happens.

You will never know unless you try.

I would actualy see the peacock bass as your main obstacle It would be pretty fragile when young but then it may grow faster than the other fish and eat them whole. If you are very careful of the size of each fish I think it could work:thumbsup:
