He is mature and its very unlikely that he will ever get off live if he was fed live all his life!
But starve him for a few days and try giving him shrimp and other frozen foods!

Got my CKF from the LFS. I didn't want to ask info from the LFS because I didn't want BS from them, I'm sure someone just dropped that fish off to them.
First, I fed it a lot of live feeders to bulk it up.
Then, I slowly tried to get it on beef heart.
Aftewards, I starved it for weeks and it started to take frozen fish. Now it is on frozen fish and nothing else.
These things can go 2 months without eating. Don't let them bully you into giving them live. Stand strong.
