a lfs near me (happens to be a really nice privately owned one) anyways they have a pair of clown loaches for sale. Female is about 6" and male about 8" and super fat. Anyways They are only 79.99 for the pair or $49.99 if you buy separate. They also have some large silver arowana (about 20"+ for only $125.00 and a few more at like 18" or so for same price.

Mine are that size. Folks that see them are always shocked. They say, "I didn't know they got that big!" I tell them that's because they're never housed properly. They grew up in my 90g & now live in my 125g.

I was going to but I have never been able to keep clown loaches alive. my other fish would rip them to shreds and my smaller fish would get stressed out with fish that size

I dunno, mine are in with a 11" fahaka puffer, 7" frontosa, & a bunch of other aggressive fish.

Disclaimer: I wouldn't try that with any other fahaka though.

Buy the fish and sell it for more if you cannot keep them alive. You could make out with a 50 buck give or take profit. I know the only person dumb enough to buy overpriced clowns is Eric.

yeah thanx for the compliment Mystix212.... the most overpriced loach i paid for was 3 x22cm loach for 100 bucks... i thought thats not actually too bad.... small price to pay for the love of keeping the loaches.... now i have a fair collection of 15 loaches most averaging 15cm~20cm and they mostly costed me only 20 dollars on average... LFS has them for sale for 50 dollars each and they aren't even at 15cm.... I just keep buying them everytime large ones comes up for sale on forums.....

I'd just go and buy it Jtrotter77... the loaches are just awesome.....

cheers

Eric

100 bucks is pretty good for 22cm loach considering it would have taken years to get to that size and they arent exactly common....

yeah i thought so too mate, picked it up off this guy who had no idea about loaches and he just wanted to offload it, i think he scored it from some friends.... unfortunately two of them didn't make it... they looked awesome but at the same time pretty diseased when i got them, they had a white milky glaze all over the body and their eyes were cloudy..... managed to save one though but it was the smaller one out of the 3... i have not seen any of that size since then for sale.. here is a picture that i took after they died... excuse the dirt on them as it was taken in the garden.....just keep waiting for them to come up on local forums again so i can go and snap it up, managed to get lots of 15~20 cm ones since then.....

cheers

Eric
