I developed this set-up for the purpose of breeding P. Motoro in my basement. I had to disassemble my staircase to move the main tank downstairs. I have spilled just shy of 300 gallons of water trying to balance and configure everything. Here you go.
I have some very productive swordtails in another tank and created this floating refuge for the fry.
I would like to send a shout out to my talent coach Bobo Da'Bassett and my Personal Trainer Selena Da' Lab.
Blue tank $110, Grey tank $80.
Blue 350 gallon, Grey 150 gallon.
It is heated using (3) Hydor Theo 400w heaters located in the sump between the FBF and the plants. My basement is about 65 degrees year round, the tank stays at 78-80 even though the heaters are set at 75.
I purchased the media real cheap from the Market Place, $70
The trickle plate is from a "Dogloo" dog house floor. I had way to much time on my hands and decided to go at it with a drill and countersink.
