after losing my 8in. female last month from a head injury ive decided to keep just my 12in. male as a show fish, hes kinda shy and wodered what everyone else uses as targets, tinfoils, silverdollars, cons, ideas. just want him to be alil more active. oh yeah 125 gal tank

Cons sound good. You can try bala sharks and giant danios or buenos aires tetras. I've never had a festae eat any other fish. Yours may be different though. XP A school of rainbow fish might work too.

I see a lot of people using tinfoils as dithers as they are very quick. I've tried tinfoils, convicts, jags, clown loaches, and they all wind up dead.

So it's just my festae pair all alone in a 125.

tinfoils get large- 14" and being that you'll need a group of 6-8 that would crowd your tank, i would probably try to find some larger bala sharks.

Filament barbs won't get killed. They're fast little buggers and max out at 6". I have 5 in a 135 with my pair of Festae and they're the only fish that have been able to survive. I've tried Tiger barbs, Congo tetras, SD's, convicts, and the kicker...I lost 3 full grown Roseline sharks ($25 each at 6") out of 6 one night and removed the others. I FINALLY found some Filament barbs a while back. They were kind of pricey, I paid $12 each for 3"ers but nothing can touch them and they don't sleep I swear. I've also had 2 full grown ones living with a jag for a couple years now and he hasn't been able to eat them.

These are about 4" in this pic. They'll get about 2 more inches and thicken up quite a bit. Keep at least 3 if possible because they're a schooling fish.
