Well a friend of mine has been looking at my tanks recently and decided to get a 180 for a decent price off CL.

Well his girlfriend will only let him set it up in their living room as long he puts the 'pretty blue ones'.

My friend would also like a large centerpiece that also has a 'wet pet' kind of personality.

First thing that came to my mind was a large fire eel and just hope it doesn't get the taste of neon in it's head.

Any suggestions?

giant gourami then you can convince her for an upgrade when it grows and she loves him lol!

In a 180, you may be able to get away with ones not normally considered neon safe. Angels, Discus, Severums, Gourami could possibly work. The larger the school of neons, the better off they will be. Plus, Pet Smart often has them on sale for a $1 a piece. So if they size of the school starts to diminish, getting more won't cost a fortune. I would start with around 30 or 40 of them, at least, and see how it goes. As always, cardinal tetra look better, are generally healthier and easier to keep, and a bit larger than neon tetra.

yeah with a muzzel on it lol!-)

Yeah you could look at it the other way and get a large predator or catfish
