I have been away from my fish for about 10 days. The fish were correctly fed with an auto feeder and checked on by a girlfriend under specific orders not to do anything but remove potential fatalities (none). Ammonia, Nitrites 0. Nitrates < 10 ppm. When I returned, my largest glass cats had turned quite opaque. He is ventilating and eating normally, but his movements have slowed down. He's been kicking since last wednesday, but seems to be wasting away in the meantine. He's showing no signs of ick or any disease I am familiar with, but I've never had a disease experience. I am thinking it may be time to euthanize him, but I wanted to see if anything could be done? He is large and may be towards the end of his life, but I haven't had him longer than a few months. The other five are completely healthy, except they have recently split into two schools of two as opposed to 1 school of 6.

Any advice? I don't have a QT available, and I'd be afraid that the stress would kill him. Should I allow natural processes to complete? What could I be risking aside from his suffering?

My glass catfish turned white before they died. I never had alot of luck with them. The first one started turning white about a month after I got them and died shortly after. The same thing happened to the second one about two months after that. The third about two weeks later. All of my perameters were fine and no other fish seemed to be affected. I think I heard once that they don't well when not in a group. Not alot of help but thats my experience.
