I will be getting a Perfecto 300 72"long 36"wide 27"tall tank delivered on Friday.

I have one main concern. It will only fit through my doorways(29"-30") on its side or end.

So my question is how concerned should I be about laying it on its side or end on a dolly or cart without cracking it.

I have 2 possible plans

Plan A
This plan would be the easiest but is a little scary. Put the tank on its end on an appliance cart with plywood and foam underneath it and roll it through the doorways.

Plan B
Use 2 or 3, 4 wheels caster carts and lay the tank on its side on some padding and roll it through the doorways.

Plan c
IS to attempt to carry it through the doorways with a bunch of people. Don't really like this plan LOL

Would appreciate any input :)

Plan B would probably be best, but if you can get hold of a couple of glass suction cup handles, then carrying it probably wouldn't be too bad.

Cool I was thinking plan A was a bit too risky

I might look into the suction cups but those also make me nervous just because I have never used them

Thanks for the feedback

I've used for both glass and acrylic tanks, and believe me, they make it SOOOOO much easier. You can pick up the double suction cup ones from harbor freight tools for like $6 each. Pick up 4 or 6 of those, and you'll be set on moving tanks for as many people as will line up to help.

Ditto. Me and my BF moved our 500g acrylic tank with 4 suction cups and two dollies which you can also pick up from harbor freight. we also used it on a 240g glass. I know alot of people feel sketchy about them. but trust me. they will make your life so much easier and we have yet to have a problem with them!

There is a harbor freight about 5 miles away looks like I will be making a run :) Thanks for the feedback I would not have trusted the suction cups other wise.

The suction cup plans seems to be the best bet, thats how the movers moved my 200G into my apartment and let me say it was a TIGHT SQUEEZE...

I say definitely go with the suction cups and a few friends. I've never owned a tank that would fit snugly on a cart. Sometimes it is easier to just carry it.

It seems very hard to believe / scary that a $6 suction cup would hold a 350 lbs++ tank. I always said there has to be an easier way. My 2 brothers and I manhandled a 180 down into a basement. NEVER again!!!!!! Wish I knew about the suction cups.
