I have a 55 gallon tank with 2 reds in it 6-8in. They are very shy and won't even eat with someone in the room. I know this is because they are not in a shoal but my tank is not big enough for more than 4. I was thinking of getting 6-7 1 inch reds and then raise them together. I know that some of them will get eaten or I will sell them but the strongest and most aggressive will survive. Will this help the 3-5 that make it not be shy when older even though they are not a full shoal anymore? I thought about going with Caribe but they are much more expensive than reds. Thanks!

Give them time to get used to their new home. Keep the lights off. My P's eat pellets, but I still keep the lights off for the most part.
