This winter, which is just about upon us, I'm planning an all Hap species tank in a 200+ gal. Originally it was to be SA/CA but I'm just not very impressed with the large New Worlds - they just don't work in a crowded enviorment for me. The 125 then will become all either all Mbuna or all Victorian but thats another story.

Last week I picked up a few very small juvi's to grow out - Aristochromis chrysti "Hawk",Exochromis Anagenys "Torpedo",
Champsochromis Caerulus "Trout",Cyrtocara Moorii "Dolphin". They'll be jioning the Venustus,Fenestratus,Steveni,Ahali,Mloto-fireline,Tyranno Nigriventer,Empress,Compressiceps,Carbo and maybe a few of my Jakes.

This weekend I'll be picking up Copadichromis Borleyi "kandango",Placidochromis Electra"deep water",Placidochromis milmo"VC-10" to grow out. Was also thinkin' Protomelas Taeniolatus "tangerine tiger".

Any suggestions on other Haps? Especially those containg colorations NOT predominantly Blue. Also are there any issues with the stocklist ie- too small for the big boys, not aggressive enuff, dietary issues,etc..? Your help will be greatly appreciated - many thanks in advance.

You have some big boys on your stock list. I would at least get a 8' tank. I don't really see a problem with your stocklist if you have a big enough tank to house them. I would recommend a Tawain Reef, there a pretty nice fish

I had a Dimidochromis kiwinge, and it was a very attractive and interesting fish, you might want to look into one for the big tank

If your refering to Protomealus Steveni "tawain reef", I already own a 6" male he's definately goin' in there - just starting to show his blues................the plan is 84x24x30.
Excellent ideas!

Seems like a very attractive species, I'll keep an eye out for it if my LFS every gets one.

Keep me posted if you decide to go with a 125 Vic tank. I have one running currently with 10 species, all males.

How about Fryeri?......How big is your Malawi Trout? I have been thinking about getting one for my 220......AND, an 8 foot tank would be great, but if you are in the 220 area, you will be fine!
