How big of a tank would i need if i got a LMB as a baby and kept it for its entire life? would a 125 be ok?

I'd say at a minimum you would need the tank to be 8' x 2.5' x 2.5' which would be around 375 gallons. Ideally you would want something more along the lines of a 450 but either way a 125 is not going to do it for life. A Largemouth Bass can easily grow to 24+ inches long if it has the space and the food to do so.

With a 125 you can probably keep a juvenile Largemouth for about 2-3 years or maybe less. If you want to keep it for life, you need a 250+ tank.
