I have one male and one female large mouth bass(based on getting them at the same size 1.5", the female is 1/3 bigger than the male now that they are 6"). The larger female has recently been charging the smaller bass's head and breaking scales off. They have been together for 10 months with no problems. They're both fed very well (3 baby night crawlers a day each with 10 small feeder fish every weekend).
Should they be moved into separate tanks or is this just mating habits.

i could be wrong but i dont think your bass are mature yet. in my experience with them, you need to keep them in groups of 3 or more or by themselves. they are aggresive little suckers

I always had trouble keeping numbers of lmb. Pairs and up to 5. There would always be one dominant that kicks all the other lmbs butt. I agree with cichla, seems like your bass aren't mature yet.
