Hey guys new to the forum and here is my situation.

I have had a Largemouth bass in my 150 gallon tank for about three years now. He is alone in the tank. Well, today I was cleaning the tank and he grabbed my finger and got pretty tore up, luckily he didn't get out of the tank. Anyways, he has some decent sized gashes on him and I was wondering what I could put in the water to help aid in healing process. He has had some small sores before from chasing bait and they usually heal pretty quickly.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

John

And pry no secondary infection settles in. Should not be difficult with the llmb. They are tough.

wait so it attack you and then the BASS got injuried?

Just add salt and ( I think your recent WC is good enough). Bass are sensitive to meds so I wouldn't add them.

I have instant ocean synthetic sea salt. Would this be suitable for this? The tank is 150 gallons, so about how much should I add?

He bit my finger and I closed the lid to keep him in and he cut himself on the lid and top of aquarium. I feel really bad.

If you only have sea salt, it is better than nothing. Only salt can not be used is the iodine laced for our kitchens.

I'm am going to get the correct aquarium salt. A buddy gave me a bunch of supplies a while back and this sea salt must be from him.
Thanks guys, great site!

What would be a good amount to start with adding? I have never used salt before. I've had the water tested before in my aquariums and has always been good.
Thanks

Wow u have a tough finger Haha, but I do the same exact thing as everyone is saying. Water Change and aquarium. If u don't see progress add melafix. Help heal scratches and wounds. Can we get pics so we know how bad and what Ur dealing with. Good luck hope he heals quickly:D
