just like the tittle ask.any tips???

It shouldn't float. The black stuff does, supposedly because it is a dual extrusion with a low density core. (The black stuff I have worked with was more like polypropylene.)

How are you using it and why is it floating (density wise or air ingestion, etc.)?

Btw, if it is for caves, just put some rocks or gravel in them. You can also drill into the sides and add SS nuts and bolts.

its actually abs aka black stuff. damm hd had small white pvc . must have been buzzed when i said pvc.

Glue some rocks in it if it is large enough. If not, glue it to some rocks. Silicone won't stick to it well enough, but you can use epoxy, superglue gel, Loctite products such as Stick-N-Seal or Household Repair, etc.

are those products aquarium safe???

Everything except the epoxy. Since "epoxy" is such a broad term, you should check with which ever manufacturer. Loctite products such as "five minute" etc. are ok as long as you mix them really well. They shouldn't have a smell when they are fully cured.

i took the easy way out , had a 75 in long pvc pipe. i zip tied the pipes to it and placed it in the tank . placed a few large rocks on each end . not pretty but effective,
