Large PVC versus flowerpots

Are large sections of PVC just as good as flowerpots for breeding caves for frontosas ,Severus,etc

There is a guy on another forum who uses it with success with his C. frontosa "Blue" from Cape Mpimbwe.

I have seen people who silicone pebbles or rocks around it to give it a more natural look.

Although the Chuco intermedia didn't spawn in this PVC cap, as soon as the eggs became wrigglers, the parents moved the wrigglers to it.
And because this was a community tank, it made removal easy, and artifially raise them.
