anyone see them b4? my sister said they had one about 2 foot long in a tank with leopoldi. im gonna post pics tomorrow when she e-mails them to me. so there is proof it can be done w the right tank size, and tankmates.

i think they might be talking about raphael cats from south america... if so, they are talking about a some species BESIDES the "commonly" available striped and spotted raphaels.... i currently have a "jumbo" striped that i have had for about four years.... he is 7-8 inches..... NOT two feet!

I thought yours was a foot Trev?

ya they were. i currently had some little mites in my tank and used jungle parasite guard at a half dose and killed all my vamps except for my armatus. have u ever seen a rhaph over a foot long? im gettin pics of a two footer tonight

check it!!! my sister is fired from takin pics. but anyway here is a two foot rhaph. im sure the key to keepin these guys is tank size. sorry the pics are soooo bad. im gonna take a trip to the aquarium in a few weeks to get some pics for myself.

Nope. Never seen one over a foot. I believe you have the 1st case of getting one over a foot that I am aware of. The larger of my 2 is @ 9 inches. We probobly will never see a big one just cause of the skiddish nature of these things. I can honestly say that I wouldn't keep a 9 incher in anything less than 180 gallons. A 2 footer would probobly need a 6 foot wide tank. And very docile tankmates.
