I was jsut wondering about how you guys do waterchanges with large tanks. For those of you who have tanks of a few hundred gallons or more, how do you do waterchanges. Do you find u can get away with changing lesser ammonts of water at a time or what. I mean i do 30% waterchanges on my 90 weekly and i was thinkign ok well thats around 30 gallons there, what do you guys do with big tnaks were a 1/3 % waterchange woul be like 150-200g or more! Or do ypou all have these tnaks on a drip system, or do you have to do ltos of little changes? please let me kno what you do, imvery curious because i want to venture into larger tanks soemtime. Thank you.

i do about 30% of my 225 at a time.. that's only 60-70 gallons though. i'd imagine bigger tanks are on a drip system or do more frequent changes

i do 50% weekly on my 300. drop in a spare mag drive on a hose and use a python to vacuum. only takes like 45 min from start to refilled...aint bad.

I use a Python type device to change the water in my 220. 50% every week. It takes some time, but it's not hard.

I also use a python and do 50 percent water changes every four days on my 450 gallon ray tank,I change 50 percent of my 300 gallon poly tank twice a week,I change 50 percent of my 135 tiger tank twice a week and the other tanks at least 50 percent a week.I do not pay a water bill:}

Pumps and pythons are the way to go on large tanks! Get yourself a decent pump and enough tubing to pump the water where you want, clean the gravel with a siphon (python).

As stated above, do at least two 45% waterchanges each week. Pythons work wonders for the larger tanks as well as the smaller ones. ;)

I am tempted though to get another attachement and a few more hoses for my FX5 and use that option for a water change. I imagine that will go MUCH faster and you'd be able to just clean the filter afterwards. Two stones with one bird!! YAY!
