How do you do a large water change in a big tank? Even when ur doing a little weekly 20% change how do you do it? Do you treat all the water going back into the tank or do you just fill it back up from the hose? I dont own a large aquarium so i was just wondering how its done since i plan to upgrade in the future and Im trying to get everything into perspective. Thanks in advance!

i drain with a mag 12 and refill from the tap with a python. i just dump the prime in while it's filling. never been a problem.

i use prime and double the dose for the amount im changing. i add half when i start refilling and add the other half in smaller doses while the tank is refilling. im changing about 100 gals per week so it comes straight from water hose.

i use strickly ro water for my tank. but all depends on what kind of fish you have in the tank.

I just use a Python like a lot of people. And I use prime as I refill the tank.

I fill a barrel with my python and add dechlor. Then I gravel vac away until 50-65% of the water is drained. Then fill using a pump in the dechlorinated water in the barrel.

It is an extra step I know but hey it works.

get a python to drain and fill your tank. after draining to desired level, add the appropriate amount of dechlorinator and start filling. it's a simple and quick procedure, thanks to the python. gone are the days of buckets and sucking on syphons.
