About a month ago I purchased a large 14-16" endli. For the first week it wouldn't eat. No big deal new fish. Then it started eating and it was like a light switch. It ate everything from massivore to shrimp to fish fillet. As soon as Id drop something in the tank he went from bump on a log mode to food finding mode. The fish put on weight and was doing good. Now the fish wont eat again. Its been almost two weeks and he ignores everything.

Water temp is 80, water is good (been doing this awhile) and his only tank mate is an armatus 16-18" or so. Any ideas?

Sometimes they just don't eat. If it's eaten before once it gets hungry again it'll eat again. I know that the lion who ate the sun recommends garlic to try and get fish to eat. I recently started added garlic to my tilapia preparations as well and it seems to work as my gar started accepting non-live foods for the first time.

Do u guys just add regular garlic? Like the powder seasoning kind?

I just buy it in the liquid form online and put it in a bucket with my tilapia along with other vitamins and try and mix it in as best I can.

Its weird because mine are usually pigs and they havent eaten any5hing but salmon since i started feeding them it. I beed to get them to start eating again. or it could be because i lowered their temp from 82 to 78 because of the winter. Who knows.

Ok the fish ate again finally. It's been about 3 weeks since it last ate. I was feeding my armatus and just like before it was like a light switch. As soon as the shrimp hit the water he started searching for food and ate just fine. On his fast I'd drop food right in front of his nose and he wouldn't move. I've just never seen a fish go so long with out eating and then go back to an aggressive feeding response....weird.
