Saw this on my convict a couple days ago. It was one very small bump. It has now spread and gotten larger. Just wondering if anyone knows exactly what this is and is it treatable? Thanks for your time.
This fish has been in my 125gal tank for over a year. No issues with any other fish. He has been protecting fry for the past week. Might have hit his head on wood or rock. Not real sure.

Wow. Looks like a cyst, probably bacterial. I hate to think you'll need to inject antibiotics, but since I'm not familiar with this ailment, we'll see what the pros say. Lupin? Oddball? Anybody?

Is that a splinter sticking out if it in pic 1?

after a closer inspection, the white spots are actually open wounds. The wounds are even present just behind both eyes. He doesn't seemed to be bothered by it. Still eating and protecting the fry.

Looks like ulcer to me. I would personally put Potassium Permanganate on it.

If it's not deep, you can dab it with hydrogen peroxide.
