My lungfish, about 5 years old, 90 gal tank by herself has some spots on her sides. The largest one is smaller than a dime, larger than a pea. There are 2 other spots that aren't that big. I have tried EM tablets with no effect, and primiflex with no results, decrease in size or healing. Although I can not touch them, one looks a bit ulcerated, or indented. I am doing a water change tomorrow, about 1/3. She has not eaten for a while, and developed these spots after she stopped eating. Not sure if that has anything to do with things. I don't know what else to try. I hope someone out there has some kind of solution, help or information on what I can do to help heal and get rid of whatever it is:( :( .

Can you get a picture, are the spots fuzzy or smoth,
Salt at 1 tbsp. per 5 gallons won't hurt.
Binox or combining both Maracyn and Maracyn-2 are good general remedies that work on bacterial body ulcers and body fungus as well.

:iagree: :)

if it is fungis? mabey if, your water is cooler than your normal tempeture that you had it. cold water can do breed fungis.

I will try to get a picture of the largest one and post it. She has always been camera shy, so it is hard to get one. It doesn't seem to be fuzzy, and I will try to sneak my hand in and feel it. Hopefully I will have my fingers left;) As I described it before, they look ulcerous to me.
Thanks for your suggestions.

try giving it alittle bit of food to coaks your fish out.

My African LF also has a small white spot(smaller than a Pea,kinda looks like a pimple, but not fuzzy)on its left side up near its head.I have only had this fish a little over 2 weeks,it was kinda beat up when i got it,he/she still hasnt eaten yet(although i dont sit there and watch for real long)but i have dropped pieces of shrimp in the tank right near its mouth and he doesnt budge, could my fish be sick??Thanks:(

i wouldnt use meds on the lungfish as with most primitive fishes strong meds (or even broad spectrum antibios commonly used for other fishes) generally aren't that effective.

i would keep up regular large water changes and the fish should heal up on its own. how often do you change the water and how much do you change right now? i would switch to at least a 50% water change 2x a week or every other day...this will help the lung heal up faster. also, a temp of around 82F will help the healing process. good luck, and keep us posted on how the fish is doing--
