Hey all, was just wondering what's a healthy diet for a lmb? I Just caught a healthy one the other day who loves his rosy reds and mosquito fish, but I know to much feeder fish is bad and causes deficiencys. What is a good healthy diet? He's in a 30 gal. grow out tank till he gets big enough for my pond. Also, how would I get him to take dry foods? All he will eat at the moment is feeder fish and grass shrimp. (lake I got him from was full of em!) Thanks in advance.

A good carnivorous fish pellet will provide a balanced diet and should be used as the staple. If your fish doesn't want to eat pellets, let him go hungry for a few days. He'll decide to try them eventually. Market shrimp, crayfish, and nightcrawlers are good treats and less likely to carry diseases than are feeder fish.

I don't keep bass, but I feed my sunfish Tetracichlid Jumbo Sticks. A lot of people swear by Hikari Food Sticks and Massivore; they're kinda pricey for me. I've never ordered crays, so I can't help you there. Shrimp are just as good. Be sure to get them as intact as possible; heads, tails, shells, etc. have lots of nutrients.

I feed mine market shrimp and pellets.

sounds good. Can we get a picture of that beast?
