Largemouth bass nest in my tank!!!!

Hi!!! I have a LMB male of 5' and he made a nest above the botton. He remains calm there, but when someone approaches to him, he attacks. About nest, Is it normal in tank? if I put a female into tank could have a succesful breeding? Thanks.

it happens. good conditions make fish horny.
they might mate. there's the chance he'll kill everything else in the tank while guarding the fry.
5 foot large mouth bass? I don't think they get that big. did you mean inches?

Are you sure it's a nest? 5'' seems mighty small for a largemouth to be sexually mature... If it is 5', then you should probably take a picture of the largest LMB ever seen.

I don't think the bass dug that nest as the gravels were probably swung by hovering from bass.

Bass will settle at the bottom at night - often making what appears to be a nest. Perch will do it too. As others said, doubt he's matured yet - but in my day grade school chicks didn't have cleavage either. Maybe times are a changin.
