The land of the pine
I've had a largemouth bass in a 600 gallon pond for 5 years. I raised the largemouth from a fingerling and he is now around 4 pounds. He looks about that, I've never taken him out of the pond and weighed or measured him. About a year ago he nearly beat my koi to death, so I had to take it out. The pond is absolutely full of breeding populations of mosquito fish and bluespotted sunfish. I recently found a brown bullhead in the pond that I put in years ago and assumed it died. I haven't added any other fish near the size of my bass because I always thought he would kill the, like he tried to do with the koi. He hasn't done anything to the bullhead so I don't know. I'd love to put a longnosed gar in there but I'm not sure how the reaction will be. My pickerel also really needs an upgrade as he is approaching 11 inches in a 60 gallon long. I'd like to move him in there but I don't know if my bass will attack him. I'm also worried he may be able to eat the pickerel.

He might be ok with the catfish because they are in different areas of the tank.
I think putting in more mid-top dwellers is asking for trouble with a fish that is a known aggressor.

It's a pond, not a tank. Largemouth bass are really not top dwellers. They swim around everywhere.

This is why the cat is still in there. The cat is always at the bottom and dosnt bother the bass. Any mid swimmers added will most likly cause problems
