Largemouth bass' position in the water?

I know Largemouth's will come to the water's surface when food is present at the surface, but do they spend most of their time at the bottom of the water column, middle of the water column or top of the water column. Or do they just go wherever they want?

my guess is middle. In the wild they feed on top and bottom

I usaully see them where ever they want too be. unless theyre scared than they go to the bottom

mine goes wherever he wants. at night he stays at the bottom and normally stays in the middle, buut he sometimes basks at the top in the sunlight.

any bass ive kept slept on bottom and swam all over mostly middle

When they sleep in my experience they are bottom corner dwellers, but then I've also seen them swim and cruise the middle/bottom.
