In april to may all across the US in lakes, streams, creeks and rivers.

This years fry should be around 10-11" by now if they are wild.

THATS WHEN THEY SPAWN. DONT DO THAT. UNLESS YOUR AN A HOLE :irked:

If you go fishing for it, be aware that most controlled bodies of water and waterways harboring largemouth bass have a size limit (usually set by the states Dept. of Fish & Game. Minimum size for bass in almost any state,of not all is 12 inches or more (barring special "slot size" limits).
You might search around for a local landowner with a private pond, willing to part with your prize. Or, there are many commercial fish farms who raise fish for stocking programs throughout the country, that you could contact. A Google search will help you with a list of names that will take you in that direction.
Good Luck !

What?

are you saying that you can not catch a 3" bass in april to may? Like they would be freshly hatched 1/4" fry in may?

The cold makes it rough. But there should not be any LMB 3-5" this time of year in the wild.

They spawn usually in march to april give or take a month. And after hatching the fish will grow 1-2" per month on average. So all of this years hatchlings will be around 6-12" in length by now. And most will be towards the 12" side.

So to get a little 3" one this time of year you etheir have to buy from a breeder. Or get extremely lucky and catch a sickly one.

Hey I just got these guys today , fingerlings around 3-4". I went to a local fish farm in my area, but he also ships across the U.S. All of his fish are DEC certified disease free. They are $1.50 each. Here is his website if you want to contact him.
