That little fish niblet is my baby largemouth bass :) he is a voracious eater, and man is he attentive. He chases fingers and watches us like a hawk. Keeping him solo to get the best personality from him. He seems to be doing well so far, and yes, he will be huge, and yes, I know a 250+ gallon tank. Eventually. He's happy right now, and I know where to get cheap, huge fish tanks. Other than that, any thoughts/ideas, I would LOVE to hear, as finding suggestions for native species are few and far between.

I'd get rid of all the larger round rocks scattered across your entire substrate. Its just a detritus trap. Just use one or two large rocks for structure and leave the bottom covered with some sand or fine gravel. Besides all those rocks are displacing a lot of water. And like you mentioned you'll need a much larger tank soon. :)

put in a small boat dock when older. always great place to bait cast around to catch them.
