Hey, im interested in starting a tank with a large mouth bass, and was wondering what size tank to get, i know it will be atleast 6 feet long, but how many gallons? And is there a type of gar, or some sort of oddball i can house him with? thanks!

unless you have an ISOLATED pond to put it or plan to kill it when it outgrows your tank I wouldn't keep a large mouth in less than a 900G 10'x6'x2'.

Seems a little over the top for a potentially 30" fish.

OP: I would say a 220 would suffice for a single LMB. That's 6' x 2.5' x 2'. Also, IME, LMB are extremely aggressive and will kill most tank mates. I had mine almost kill my gar and green sunfish. I had to move the bass to my 1400 gallon pond before it killed them. If you had to have tank mates I would suggest some larger bullhead catfish species or a couple large growing sunfish. Also, if you move it into a pond watch out. Otters killed mine.
