I was thinking of a uaru. They'll be put together when they are still juvies. Any comments/suggestions are welcome.

In a big enough tank I don't see a prob with Uaru and Angel Fish I think it would look nice if done correctly.

yeah i dont see it being a problem, angelfish look all delicate and innocent but can actually be pretty mean if they put their minds to it, i would start with the angel fish though and let them grow a bit before adding the uaru that way it is being introduced into the angels territory and they will be more confident to defend themselves if the need arises, though i think it should be fine and would make a really cool looking tank

thanks for the replies

what do you guys think about adding an oscar? i know they grow fast so i'll make sure the angels are a decent size first

What size tank are we talking about here? I'm envisioning a 125 to 150 with the Uaru and a nice group of Angel Fish, when all are full grown. The oscar in the mix isn't really doing anything for me.

yeah lol i guess thats one of the first questions we should have asked, what size is the tank? i personally would go with either an uaru or an O but not both, i think them together would look kind of jumbled, but if you went with the O you would have to make sure that the angels were full grown before adding the smallest O you could

Agree on compatibility, but I should mention that one of the most oft suggested tankmates for an Oscar is the Uaru. With similar temperaments and care requirements, the two get along quite nicely as far as I know. I haven't done that combo, but I have kept a huge silver angel with an Oscar and they were great together. They Angel got mean sometimes, but the Oscar was smart enough to stay out of his way.

We have a large display tank at the store I manage (700+ gallons) containing wild discus, a severum, festivum and Uaru. There are no agression issues there, so I don't see why angels would be a problem.

i acquired 3 last week, when they get large enough i plan on putting them in the 125g with sevs, psittacus, geos, and festivus
