Hi all I figure this would be the perfect medium to try and find a alternative for feeding my arowana and other large fish. I have been feeding them hikari carnivore sticks for quite some time and have had good success with them but now since most of the fish in the tank are able to eat 4-5 of those large pellets each I’m starting to go threw bags like crazy and since I live in a town with minimal aquatic selection at my pet land I have no choice but to order them off amazon which costs me about $30/ month for the pellets. If there is a alternative for a quality FLOATING pellet it maybe time to switch. I don’t want to feed a sinking pellet as one of my arowana already has horrible drop eye from jumping and hitting his eye and almost knocking it out and I don’t want to make it worse or make the other one drop due to looking down for good.
I have also been feeding a lot of silversides to them but my local marine store has stopped carrying the flats of the 2-3” silversides and is only selling the small frozen hikari packs that only contain about 12-13 3” fish which is basically 2 feedings for $12 so that economically isn’t a option anymore. I know it’s probably not a good option parasite and disease wise but has anyone ever feed there fish frozen bait minnows like Cisco’s? I can get a frozen flat of those for $5

Check the seafood department at your grocery store out maybe?
Also pictures of your voracious beasts please :)

NLS naturox jumbo float has 7.5-8mm pellet size and go for like $55 for 1600g(56.43 oz) container.
