I've owned the macrobrachium carcinus. It's a huge omnivorous prawn, with huge pincers and a fearless attitude.

This is a large shrimp-like crustacean with deadly claws. Long-armed prawns also have 6 long antenna-like feelers, 1 more set of shorter clawed arms, 1 short set of arms without claws, 6 legs for walking, and paddles under the tail for swimming. They like living in tropical temperature freshwater with a high pH, but they will survive in a variety of conditions.
Description:
After several years of growth adult M. carcinus can reach up to 18 inches (45.7 centimeters) in length and may weigh up to 1 pound (.45 kilograms). This animal has some awesome weapons. It's claws are huge withe som extra teeth like protrusions in it's claws. This is a formidable weapon. This animal is capable of chopping off a human's thumb with it's claws

Though an interesting looking species, I have to call BS...or at least exageration on this comment. Maybe they could remove the tip of your thumb, but from every photo I saw just now, there just isn't enough claw there to remove an entire thumb. Well, I guess if you sit there and let them work at it for awhile...

LOL, the claws showed were small in comparism to those I've caught. I don't have any pics of those I've caught, and google and youtube don't offer very good specimens.
