largest lungfish??

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I think like 6ft

Depends on what type of lungfish you have. I have an African lungfish, which is the largest of them all and his max length can be up to 6 and a half feet. Mine is about 3 feet now and 6 yrs old. I have read of some lungfish reaching well over 20 years old. I'm not sure how long the average age is tho.

Hello,

My lungfish (called Lars) is now 97 cm long and almost 4 years old.
The average age of the protopterus annectens is 23 years. (google)

sorry for my dutch cm's, i'll try to convert it to inch.

regards marco.

Look at WWW.showjeaquarium.nl and search for DNovaNL. That's my new fishtank. It's a pretty big one for dutch private unstanding.

Wow...that's a big fish...how bigh a tank/pond do you need for that?

the west african lungfish is the longest, 7 feet. one of the austrailians is the heaviest like 80+ pounds, the one mentioned above. the africans need 1000+ tanks in my opinion.
