i have a question..What is the largest poly species and how big does it get??

Ah probably one of the most frequently asked poly questions on MFK, they say the polypterus endlicheri congicus is the largest species growing a maximum of 39" but there is some debate that the polypterus bichir bichir might grow larger than the Congo, but know one has kept one long enough to actully prove it.

yeah official record belongs to P. endli. congicus. But anecdotally P. bichir bichir is supposedly larger, which could be the case comparing the growth rate of the two. it's just that people haven't caught and recorded one bigger than the record size congicus.

thats an impressive one for sure. But as big as it seems in the pic, it's actually 78cm (or just under 31"). impressive nonetheless!
