Alright guys, I think I finally have this cycling thing down, but I need to ask one more question. So last night around 5 oclock I realized that ammonia was at zero and nitrite was at zero, I added more ammonia and when I woke up this morning I realized that my ammonia test strips are all used up, but I'm pretty sure I'm at the end of my cycle, I tested for nitrite and it was at zero at 8:30 this morning, can I assume that if my nitrite is at zero that my ammonia is also at zero after 12+ hrs.. I will be buying another ammonia test kit, but it's Sunday and there are no stores open around me. I've been cycling for 3+ weeks now.. any advice is greatly appreciated. Thank you guys. :)

The only way to tell for 100% sure is to test for ammonia, but from all you've described, I would guess the tank is cycled. Don't forget to do a big water change to get rid of all the excess nitrates before you add fish. In the future, you can just continue to post in the same thread rather than start a new one if you're still asking about the same topic.

Also, go out and buy the API test kit. It's 100% worth it and from I understand (not from personal experience because that is all I used) the test strips are some times inaccurate. For $25 or so, it will last a long time. Also, more power to for fishless cycling, I've never had the patience for that
