This will be the last fish I get for a while. My mom has opted to take care of the tank while I am away so I am not keeping pairs at the moment. This tank has become my "experiment tank" over the last couple of years allowing me to get a feeling for what I want. I know now that I definatly want to have a amphilphus tank and later in life a thorichthys tank with multiple pairs. I was originally going to go with an oscar but I went with a young midas from Rapps instead. Rapps gave me quite a looker. He is settling in with a trio of cons and a nicarguensis. I hope for this to become my nicaraguan tank with citrinellius as the main inhabitants. In 2 or so years when I get my own place I am going to upgrade to an 180+ and go for a pair. But for now just the wetpet with a few small target fish. He is surprisingly bold already eating on the first day as well as doing a little flaring at my fingers. I am really excited to see if he sheds his colors as he grows. I hope he keeps some of that black blotching.

The future monster :)

Many people have had luck with all sorts of sand but the fact of the matter is it is very hard to fins anything but the dusty construction play sand in my area. Pickings are extremely slim. Pool filter sand is heavy and clean. If you don't like it you are welcome to use something else but I am now a big fan of the stuff.

Thanks he is becoming my favorite. The convicts are still giving him a bit of trouble but he is doing just fine otherwise.
