Ok my ploys like to pile and lay, that is alright... Right?

Second I asked about breeding Ornates before, well 2 of them I got are inseparable, follow each other around tank. Lay exclusively together almost on top of each other were as Lap lies beside. And sometimes the bigger ones tail try's to lock a shake near the other, nothing violent just like friends if that makes since

Edit... They are about same size but the one seem to doing all the trying Is an inch smaller and not as much girth
As the the one it seems fond of

Can't answer the breeding question but yes, poly piles are normal (and adorable). Mine do it all the time and it's mentioned in the behavior sticky.

I read the poly signs, seems it is breading behavior, and yes the poly pile is smexy. the Ornates have the F-U look that only a proud parent could love, lol just wondering if they will breed and if they get aggressive during it

They wont breed unless you do some things to make it happen, piling isnt a breeding behaviour, just makes them feel more comfortable. If you do a search there is a great thread where someone detailed breeding ornates. You would also want to get them in a tank by themselves if you want to try, and ive heard playing loud thunderstorm sounds gets them "in the mood" haha as they breed in the rainy season it makes sense.

`oh I don't want them to, just read the sticky and it is definite breeding behavior, just don't want it to, the behavior is cute, but not wanting little polys atm

OK, just saying though, piling is under misc./curious behavior in the behavior thread, not the breeding behavior. If you see anal fin cupping, or nudging and following, that's some breeding behavior.

I just don't want you to think piling is a sign of breeding, if you have an all male tank they will pile, same w/ an all female tank, then you'll be getting yourself worried over nothing

no the are nudging and all that, I was saying I read the poly behavior thread, they do pile, but they are also doing all the breeding rituals aswell, haven't seen them doing the floating thing, but the nudging, following and the fin cup thing is persistent when I take time to sit and watch them. Not sure what ornates are but in other thread I found the lap was a male
