Hey guys I have noticed a slight discoloration around the eye and what would be the ear area of my large male burundi frontosa. I noticed it a few months ago but it kind of came and went. his behavior has not changed at all, he still eats and interacts with other fish as normal. It is a 125 gallon tank, his tankmates are seven moba frontosa ranging from 5-8 inches or so. I also dont notice any stringy waste and last time I saw him pooping it looked firm and normal. I do not keep salt in the tank. The tank has two eheim classics which i clean every months or so, sometimes they may sit for 6 weeks or so but im pretty consisent about changing them. I have had the fish for five years and I have never noticed a problem until these spots came up, they have recently in the past week or so ulcerated slightly on one side. Today I mixed slightly less than three teaspoons of epsom salt into nine ounces of tank water and soaked his NLS for about a minute with the salt treated water. They readily ate it. I was posting to ask if any of you have ever run into lateral erosion some time after keeping a seemingly healthy fish for several years? Also is there anything in addition to the epsom salt or reguarding the epsom salt treatment I should change or do different?
Thank you guys any and all help would be appreciated. I will try to get some pictures up if I can but its a hard thing to photograph, oh and I almost forgot. He is the only fish in the tank showing any signs of ailment, the mobas are not showing any issues at the moment.
