wat would you recommend laterite or eco complaete or flourite id like to get eco but i dont have much funds and laterite is cheaper. or is there a just as good substrate for less? fyi i plan ona dwarf hair grass carpet with some other undecided ferns

I prefer ecocomplete, but have seen pretty good results from 2 of my buddies using Aquarium Plants.com Substrate. It's a uniform, dark gray color. I'll be using it when I decide to redo my 120g, for economical reasons.
I use Eco-Complete and like it best. It is especially nice if you have bottom dwellers like Loaches and Corys cause it is very smooth and fine. I have Flourite in my 120 and I don't care for the color and the gravel is rough, IMO. Plus it is a pain to clean.
