I am upgrading my 20g planted tank to a 36 gallon bowfront and I am contemplating switching from gravel to sand. I have sand in my 125 and like that poop sits on top. I feel that this will allow me to keep the tank cleaner without disturbing my plants as often. I am curious as to how well laterite mixes with sand or if I should just place it under the sand?
