Are they a cold water fish? Also what kind of ph ect do ya'll run with these guy's. Any info regarding this fish would be cool. thanks

Yup, come from tropical countries such as nigeria. Neutral would be fine. Most lates are hardy species, and can with stand different water params.

Back when I had one I kept it with my African cichlids and the ph was about 7.8 and I fed it mostly Tetra Jumbomin which it seemed to really enjoy.

Where do the Nileperch originally come from and whats that water like? They were introduced into some African lakes for fishing and they just about decimated most of the native fish there.I would guess that those waters are prety warm most of the year,BTW who is DEFRA?

Thanks guy's, Mines in warm water like 79-82 degrees. And seem's to be good and happy thus far.
