If you want one don't wait too long in getting one and you orobably should jump on any one that you see as they have recently been added to the list of fish that are banned from entry into the country.
There may still be a few around in some shops but their prices have gone up of course.

You're kidding. Well that strikes it off the list unless that ruling changes in the future. Are they worried about them becoming invasive or something? Thanks for the information!

That is the fear even though I doubt they would do well in the states. Most of the country gets too cold and places like Florida probably aren't too hospitable to them either due to higher oxygen demands. As shallow as Okeechobee is I doubt the fish would do well there and I think it would struggle in
most rivers. This falls like many other fish to regulation. River Monsters is not helping the hobby. Lawmakers are seeing these exaggerated horror stories and then panicking when they see the fish is in the trade.

You can occasionally find them at the supermarket. So you can still enjoy the fish in another way. They are quite tasty.

Unfortunately I'm not much a seafood person lol, and yeah I don't see anywhere in the country other than maybe the rio Grande where they may fluorish. Especially up here in Michigan they wouldn't stand a chance during the winter.
