Lava Rock?

Can I use lava rock for saltwater? Will it work with coral?

It's fine for fresh, but it's not the same as live/dead/base rock if that's what you're asking

Some lava rock is safe and some isn't. It depends upon the composition of the lava rock. Some lava rock contains heavy metals which can leach into the water and kill your fish and corals. Most of the rock used in saltwater tanks is porous and composed of limestone. The porosity encourages bacterial growth and the limestone helps maintain the pH and provides needed minerals for your corals.

2x not worth the risk at the very least it can wreck havoc on PH stability

joe nailed it. I wouldnt bother with lace rock either... Grab some dead or some base rock its the same price basicly.

I wouldn't use it, it doesn't buffer the pH the way that other rocks do.
