lava rocks OK?

I'll be setting up a new tank soon, and have plenty of lava rocks from my pond's old trickle tower. Should these be ok to use in an aquarium?

Yeah they should be fine. I had them in a Discus tank and they showed no bad effects from them.

If you are intending to use them for bio-media, there are better alternatives. If you just want to use them for decoration, they will be fine.
