I have this feeding problem with my gulper cats. When i brought them home initially, they didn't know how to hunt and it hurts me seeing them starving. So i started to handfeed them. But it has been almost 6 monthss since i gotten them and they simply refuse to hunt on their own no matter how long a period i starve them.
How do i get them to eat on their own again? Please help.

Are they the only fish in the tank? If so let them fast for awhile then put small chunks of whatever your feeding in the tank over night. Then take out whatever is left in the morning. Do this until they eat.

No they are not the only fishes in the tank. So i will not be too sure if they are the ones eating.
Maybe i should set up a species tank for them. Have seen gulpers of other members doing very well in a species tank.

try gold fish
mine is in with corys neons etc and leaves them but if i put anything over 1" in they usualy dissapear in the first couple of nights

I do not like the idea of using live feeders in my tank in the fear of parasites. Also i cannot afford the space to quarentine the live feeders. I prefer to use market prawns to feed my fishes.
